Our Primary Care Network (PCN) consists of five practices based in Witham and Maldon that include our surgery, Longfield Medical Centre, The Tollesbury Practice, Fern House in Witham, The Witham Health Centre, and Collingwood Road Surgery in Witham. All practices have diverse clinical teams and a strong motivation to provide the highest quality patient care. The new formation of the PCN was formerly established in April 2024 with an estimated 60,000 patient population over the six surgeries.
The PCN will offer additional resources for practices, by way of staffing and the aim is that by working together we will be stronger in the future. The ultimate gain would be to preserve the level of community services currently available, but to extend these to patients who eventually should be able to self-refer for clear cut reasons such as breast lumps and blood in urine, thus providing patients with local services or more services being offered at their home keeping them out of hospital.
All the surgeries are gradually working towards offering non-specific registered patients services at alternative surgeries such as minor ops, family planning, vasectomies and more in the near future thus avoiding length delays in being seen at hospitals.
